Episode summary
The discovery of a body in a shallow grave by the Thames prompts DSs Ronnie Brooks and Matt Devlin to reopen an eight-year-old murder case. The man convicted of that murder is given leave to appeal and chooses to represent himself in court. James Steel, who prosecuted at the original trial, once again represents the Crown. With questions over the handling of the prosecution case, James's career is on the line. And the murders are not yet over.
Fun and viewer review
James has to unroll his very first case and is faced with fears and axiety that a man who is very possible guilty will walk free. I liked that this was a break from the traditional first law then order format of the past episodes. It was a refreshing change from the usual formula. The episode concentrated very much on James and it is always great to have an episode that chose a bit more of the characters that drive the show.
Ronnie was really amusing in this episode and he provided the needed comic relief together with Matt (aho also amused me - he was way too much out of breath from the short sprint. Someone needs to work out ;-) )
